Recovery Plan for the Hawaiian Monk Seal (ID471)

NMFS is updating the recovery plan for the Hawaiian monk seal, which was last updated in 2007. The revised recovery plan for the Hawaiian monk seal will consist of three separate documents: (1) the Recovery Status Review, which will update and review the biology, ecology, and threats to the species; (2) the Recovery Plan, which will include updated objective and measurable recovery criteria, a description of site-specific management actions necessary to conserve the species, and estimates of time and costs required to achieve the plan's goals; and (3) the Recovery Implementation Strategy, which will include the stepped-down recovery activities as well as estimates of time and costs required to achieve the plan’s goals.
