Recovery Plan for the Central America, Mexico, and Western North Pacific Distinct Population Segments of Humpback Whales (ID451)

Description: NMFS is developing a recovery plan specific to the ESA-listed Central America, Mexico, and Western North Pacific Distinct Population Segments (DPSs) of humpback whales. The recovery plan will consist of three separate documents: (1) the Species Status Review, which will review the biology, ecology, and threats to the species; (2) the Recovery Plan, which will include objective and measurable recovery criteria, a description of site-specific management actions necessary to conserve the species, and estimates of time and costs required to achieve the plan's goals; and (3) the Recovery Implementation Strategy, which which will include the  tepped-down recovery activities as well as estimates of time and costs required to achieve the plan's goals.
