NOAA Open Data Dissemination (NODD) provides near real-time access to GOES-R data via cloud partners Google, Microsoft and Amazon. With the launch of NOAA’s newest weather satellite GOES-T on March 1, 2022, now renamed GOES-18, NODD will offer GOES-18 data and continue to make available the GOES-16/17 data offerings.
GOES-18 ABI Level 1b (L1b) Radiances and Level 2 (L2) Cloud and Moisture Imagery (CMI) will be made available starting July 28, 2022 when the data have been certified Provisional maturity, or ready for operational use. Current plans for public and cloud availability of the entire GOES-18 product portfolio to the public is targeted for early 2023. Additional products will be made available as they reach Provisional maturity.
Another benefit of serving the GOES-18 ABI L1b and L2 CMI is that these data will be in an interleave configuration starting August 1, 2022 where they will be distributed operationally via multiple distribution mechanisms to mitigate the degradation seen in some GOES-17 ABI bands due to the Loop Heat Pipe anomaly. There are two periods of interleave this year: 1 August to 6 September and 15 October to 11 November, 2022.
NODD will make the GOES-18 ABI L1b and CMI data accessible through the three NODD cloud platforms in near real-time for public access and free egress. As with all GOES satellites, L1b and L2+ GOES-18 products will be archived in the NOAA Comprehensive Large Array-Data Stewardship System (CLASS).

Users should note that imagery from GOES-18 during the post-launch testing phase should be considered preliminary and non-operational.
